As an avid sewist, designer, and crafter with a passion for fashion and textile design, I decided to explore machine embroidery. In 2023, I purchased my first embroidery machine to personalize my garments and accessories and to experiment with creating my own unique designs.
After realizing that there were no affordable embroidery software options, I set out to learn the entire embroidery design process using free software. I watched YouTube tutorials to understand the fundamentals of digitizing and began using Inkscape with the Ink/Stitch extension to create my embroidery files. Since I was already proficient in working with Adobe Illustrator, I developed a workflow that enabled me to design in Illustrator, export SVG files, and then digitize them in Ink/Stitch.
I created a wide range of experimentalembroidered patches made from thrifted felt, and have since designed one-of-a-kind accessories and garments featuring custom embroideries that I've sold on Etsy.
